God of ‘Lego’ and ‘Amen’

In Rev 22:18-21, Jesus declares His return, and the Apostle John responded with “Amen.” All believers are aware of His coming, yet in this world, many false Christ and false Messiah have appeared.

Many of you might have seen the Netflix documentary “In the Name of God.” People in the film gave all their money and even their bodies to their leader. Why? Because they believe their leader is the returned Messiah.

So, how can we distinguish between false gods and the true God? The Bible teaches us that idols cannot move or speak because they are not a real god, while God, being the true God, is described as a God who speaks (Deut 4:33).

In Genesis 1, God creates everything through His Word (Gen 1:3). Moreover, in Jhn 1:1 and 1:14, it’s written that the Word was with God and that the Word was God. This Word became flesh and dwelt among us – this is Jesus Christ. Thus, the Bible explains that the true God is a God who speaks. But why emphasize that God is a speaking God?

The Word must be heard and understood, correct? No matter how much one speaks, if no one listens or understands, it’s pointless. Although faith can begin through various supernatural experiences or emotions, a deep relationship with God is built by reading, hearing, and understanding His Word.

The Bible also describes that God is not only a speaking God but also as the God of “Amen”. In Rev 3:14, Jesus, who appears to the church of Laodicea, is described as the speaking God. The Greek word for “speak” here is “Lego.” But this speaking God is also called “the Amen.”

“Amen” is usually used after someone speaks to express agreement or a desire for what was said to come true (1 Chro 16:36). However, Jesus often uses “Amen” before He speaks, indicating that what He is about to say is true and has divine authority (Jhn 5:24-25).

So, when Jesus is called “Amen,” it means that He is the one who fulfills what He says. He is not a God who speaks idly or makes empty promises; He is a God who accomplishes what He says.

This is the characteristic of the true God. He is a speaking God and a God who fulfills His Word. The Greek Word for “speak” in Revelation 3:14 is “Lego.” Therefore, today’s message is titled God of ‘Lego’ and ‘Amen.’

  1. God who exists from eternity to eternity

People often say that God was present when Jesus was on earth, but He is absent after His ascension. However, John 1:14 states that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and this Word was with God from the beginning (Jhn 1:1: Matt 28:20).

In Revelation 22:13, God is described as the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end of all things. Therefore, we must believe that God exists not only when Jesus was on earth but from the beginning to the end, from eternity to eternity.

  • The God of Order

In Genesis, God created the heavens and the earth through His Word. But He didn’t just create things randomly; He created everything in order.

The Bible says that God is not a God of disorder. Then, that means God is a God of order. However, 1 Cor 14:33 expresses the God of order as a God of peace.

We often think that peace is simply the absence of conflict. Isn’t the absence of war peace? The Bible agrees that the absence of war is peace, but it also teaches that true peace is when God’s order is established.

The conclusion of the creation of heaven and earth through the word is Gen 2:1.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts.

The conclusion of the creation of heaven and earth is that everything operates in an orderly manner according to the laws that God has established.

Dear Saints, there may be darkness, anxiety, and disorder in our lives, or in our homes, churches and businesses. But I urge you to believe that the God who created everything with His Word is with you and me. Believe that this God speaks His Word of creation over us. When He does, our darkness, anxiety, and disorder will turn into light, satisfaction and order.

Conclusion:

God of Glory

When we are found in our rightful place, this completes God’s creation and brings glory to Him

Gen 1:31 And God saw that all He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning, the sixth day.

Gen 2:2 And by the seventh day God completed His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

We studied about rest, and rest is not about God taking a break. Rest is when everything is in a perfect state. When everything is in a perfect state, within God’s order, that is when we bring glory to God. I pray in the name of the Lord that you and I may be in the order of God and thus give glory to God.  Amen
