Title: There Is Only One Way In The Word Of God

In the world, there are two ways: the way of perish which can be called the way of death, and the way of well-being and success which can be called the way of eternal life.

When it comes to the way of perish, there are 3 steps: Sin, Death and Judgement. The founding pastor said that in the Bible, there is no scripture concerning which sin is worse or more evil than others. It only teaches us that if there is a sin, it leads us to death, and death leads us to judgment.

God doesn’t look how big sin we committed or who committed the greatest sin, God only looks at and cares whether there is a sin or not. So, even if there is a tiny sin, the smallest sin, that cannot be seen well or cannot be noticed well, as long as there is a sin, God is telling us that the result will be the same: the way of perish. Thus, from the moment of birth, all human-being is under the power of sin, death and judgment.

When it comes to the way of life, Jesus proclaimed and taught us the most important secret through today’s main scripture (Jhn 8:51). Greek word for ‘truly’ is ‘Amen’. Jesus answered and replied with ‘Amen and Amen’ even before He said what He was about to say, because this is the truth that cannot be denied.

Jesus said “If anyone keeps My word, he shall never see death.” This is the most shocking statement to most of Christians because the normal statement Jesus used regarding to eternal life is ‘if you believe, you will never see death.’ (Jhn 3:16; Jhn 5:24; Jhn 11:25-26)

The founding pastor taught us that as there are 3 steps to the way of perish, there are also 3 steps to the way of life: They are to believe, to keep, and to have eternal life. As long as we have a good and living faith in Jesus, it will lead us to keep His word, to eternal life.

On the other hand, because we are living in the world of sin, under the power of sin, even after making a confession of faith, we are being tempted and seduced continually. To confess Jesus as our Lord could be seen as one off event in our life, to keep His Word is an on-going event in our life (1 Jhn 3:8-9).

If anyone out there never committed sin against God, it is good for you. However, most of us are weak and fragile, we commit sins against God from time to time. Which side are we belonging to? Are we of the devil or of God? That’s why keeping His Word is important.

In Jhn 8:52-43, Jesus was walking to the Jews who saw themselves as the descendants of Moses and Abraham, and the people who are waiting for the Messiah. Because they regarded themselves as the believers of God, Jesus said to them, to believe God is one thing and to keep the Word of God is another thing.

Who we are today? Do you regard yourselves as unbelievers or believers? We are the believers of Jesus and the followers of Jesus for sure. Then, don’t you think that Jhn 8 is the Word of God for us?

Greek word for ‘to keep’ is ‘Teleo’ which means ‘to keep, to protect, to take care of.’ For example, in the Garden of Eden, if the words of the serpent didn’t come into the heart of Adam and Eve, they wouldn’t commit sin against God. In other word, if the Word of God that was in their heart was kept, they would be able to remain obedient to God. Therefore, to keep His word means 1) to protect His Word and 2) to obey His word.

Shall we go one more step? (Jhn 8:54-55)

Jesus was talking about how to get eternal life. Then, out of a sudden, Jesus introduced that there is Father. Furthermore, Jesus said, that I keep the Word of the Father.

The Jews didn’t believe Moses and Abraham properly, therefore they were not able to believe in Jesus. If they believed them properly, they should be led to Jesus.

Then, Jesus said, there is the Father but you don’t know Him. It means that if they believed in Jesus, they would be able to know the Father. If they believed in Jesus properly, they should know the Father.

Jesus said that the one who accuses the Jews is Moses because they didn’t believe in Moses properly (Jhn 5:45-46). Jesus said that He is the way to the Father (Jhn 14:6). We thought Jesus is the final destination but Jesus was showing us that the final destination of our faith is the Father.

So, if we believe in Jesus but do not believe in the Father, the one who will accuse us would be Jesus Christ. Why? Because it means we didn’t believe in Jesus properly.

3 steps of the way of life are one package. To Believe, To Keep, and To have Eternal Life. If one works, then all works. If we miss one, it means we miss all. Therefore, if we believe in Jesus, we should be led to the Father an we should keep Jesus’ word as well as the Father’s word, and we should receive eternal life.
