Title: The Wish of God
When it comes to prayer, the Bible teaches us that there are two types of prayer or wishes. First is human wish such as “Father I want my business to go well, I want to become healthy”. This is the prayer asking for what we want. There is nothing wrong about personal wish and prayer. In fact, bible teaches us that if we ask God in faith and believing. God will answer our prayer and wish. However, there is second type of prayer or wish which is the wish of God. This is what God wants to give to us and what God wants to bless us.
In Numbers 6:22-27, God ordered Moses to tell Aaron to ask God for blessings over the people of Israel. It is because God wanted to teach Aaron and the people of Israel the wishes of God.
- What is the wish of God?
- Riches and Honor
When Solomon became a king, he felt that he is incapable to govern the nation. So, he decided to offer up 1,000 sacrifices before God. As a result, God appeared to him in a dream and asked what he wants to receive. Solomon asked God for wisdom to govern the people of God wisely and he received it so. God did not only give Solomon wisdom that he requested, but also riches and honor that he did not asked for. Therefore, it can be said that the wisdom was the wish of human whereas the riches and honor were the wish of God.
God does not want us to have worries or anxieties due to lack of finances or due to sicknesses; these are Satan playing not God’s wishes. God make us His true children and heirs of the kingdom of God and we believe that everything belongs to God. Having God as our Father He allows us to inherit the business that He has. This is not just spiritual blessing but physical blessing too. Remember becoming His true children and His heirs is the way to receive the physical blessing of riches and honor.
- Peace
Sun, moon, stars, breathing air, and walking on the earth is general grace that all man received from God. However, the Bible says that God does not give peace to the wicked (Isaiah 57:21; Isaiah 48:22).
- Turning curses to blessings
When the king of Moab, Balak tempted the prophet Balaam to proclaim curses upon the people of Israel, God changed those curses to blessings upon them (Deuteronomy 23:4-5). God will change a curse into a blessing.
- How to receive the wish of God?
- We must believe the existence of God
When we say we believe in God, it means we believe that God is a God of character. To simplify, it means our God can speak and a speaking God keeps His promises and covenants.
- We must be in the Lord, depending on the Lord
If we stay in the Lord and depend on Him, He will bring all the creations, bring all the man around us, bring weather and temperature to help us to become rich. If we stay in the Lord and depend on Him alone, God who can control and reign over all the creatures will bring whatever needed to help us to receive the blessings that God wants us to receive.
- We must live our lives as we believe
Sometimes we pray to God for something, but we do not live believing that it is already done.
It means if you pray for God’s blessing and wish for it to come true, then act as the one who is worthy to receive God’s wish and blessing.
Malachi 3:10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
Our founding Pastor Rev Abraham Park explained that Malachi 3:10 is not only about the tithe or the offering but it is related to everything. If we seek His kingdom first, it means if we voluntarily seek His kingdom and His work and His church, God will add all things that we need unto us.
Conclusion
Our soul must be prosperous in order that we may prosper in all respects
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.
This is what our founding pastor always emphasized a lot. And this is the principle of God’s blessing. Today, how are we going to prosper our soul? It is by reading the Bible daily, it is by understanding the Word of God daily, it is by listening to God daily, it is by doing the work of God daily.
Let’s read the Bible, the History of Redemption series, and let’s evangelize daily, Amen!
